Light, Atmosphere, Time
A personal project: Exploring how light shapes a space from day to night.
Room at JW Marriott Hotel Frankfurt — from day to night
Personal projects are a complementary part of my work.
They create space to explore new ideas, refine techniques and experiment with light, composition and storytelling.
These insights directly inform my work for hotels.
Day / Night Project
One example is the Day / Night Project — an exploration of how light transforms a space from day to night.
Approach
As a specialised hotel photographer, I help hotels and hospitality brands present design, atmosphere and brand identity with clarity.

Every hotel carries its own atmosphere, rhythm and architectural identity.
My role as a hotel photographer is not simply to document interiors but to translate the emotional experience of a place into imagery that feels immersive, refined, and aligned with the property's character.
Productions are carefully planned around hotel operations, guest experience and light conditions.
This allows hotel photography to integrate seamlessly into the hotel's daily rhythm while maintaining a calm, highly efficient production process.
Strong hotel photography goes beyond aesthetics alone.
It shapes perception, strengthens brand identity and influences how guests emotionally connect with a hotel long before arrival.
From internationally recognised luxury brands to independent boutique properties, every collaboration is approached with a strong understanding of atmosphere, visual consistency and the long-term value of brand perception.
About

Tim Karapetian
Hotel photographer
The most memorable hotels are defined by atmosphere.
The way light moves through a space, how materials feel, and how architecture, design, surroundings, and emotion come together to create a distinct sense of place.
My approach to hotel photography is therefore not only focused on documenting interiors, but on translating the identity and experience of a property into imagery that feels authentic, immersive and emotionally engaging.
As a hotel photographer, I place great importance on creating refined imagery that conveys the atmosphere, character and identity of a property long before a guest arrives. Rather than imposing a visual style onto a property, my goal is to understand what makes each hotel unique and reflect its character as truthfully as possible.
Working with luxury hotels, resorts and hospitality brands requires more than technical execution alone. It requires sensitivity for atmosphere, brand identity and the expectations that shape how a property is perceived across different markets and guest segments.
I approach every Project with careful attention to light, textures, spatial rhythm and visual consistency, creating imagery designed to strengthen perception while remaining authentic to the experience the hotel offers.
